Condemnation Statement
Adel Al-Khuzaie, Director of the Iraqi Observatory for Rights and Freedoms and the Rafidain Center for Justice and Human Rights, strongly condemns the unfortunate incident that occurred two days ago in Washington, D.C. This act constitutes a blatant violation of human rights and international law, and raises serious concerns about the rising patterns of violence and encroachment on public freedoms in places that should stand as sanctuaries of justice and human dignity.
At both the Observatory and the Center, we assert that this incident—regardless of its motivations or context—requires a transparent investigation and accountable justice. The responsible authorities must ensure the protection of individuals and the preservation of their dignity and rights, regardless of their ethnic, religious, or political backgrounds.
We call on all international and civil institutions to raise their voices against every violation, wherever it may occur, and to stand firmly for the values we all strive to uphold: justice, freedom, and human dignity.
